Lack of Mountain Biking
I have not had an adventure on the bike for a while now. Have been a bit busy, combined with a bit lazy and filling in my spare time instead of golf. Sunday came with two options biking in the Tararua Wind Farm or Golf in Carterton. Sunday ended up being spent playing golf with Rhino at Carterton. A great day was had. Rhino won the stroke play by four shots and I won the skins 8 to 5 with the final skin carrying over to next time. Bring it on Rhino you have got no chance a taking out the trophy next time!!!! I'm confident and backing myself to clean you up.

The Trip
No sign of mountain biking here!!

The dodgy weather around the taranaki area really put pay to any boogie boarding or golf. We did get in a few other sites however. A visit to Tangiwai a drive drive around to New Plymouth and around surf highway 45. Huka Jet, Waiouru Army Museum. Missed seeing the tornadoes but did see some of the distruction the day after. For those who don't know 153 people died at Tangiwai Christmas Eve 1953, after the crater lake erupted on Mount Ruapehu with the laver flow took out the rail bridge, which sent the train carrering into the swollen river.
The other pic is at Te Kuiti the home of David Fagan - shearing legend.

Tararua Wind Farm June 07

THATS GOLD the chief would be happy, this is a wicked view of some of the turbines in the background. The road heading up the hill is off limits we have come the goat track which then meets the road where you can just see some wooden railings on the right of the photo, just before the road heads up the hill. This is about 10kms along the 20km ride.

Shelley and a wind turbine trying to chop her head off!!!!!!!
Lost Time
Have a few pics and entries to add from my adventures riding through the tararua wind farm, however have had a bit of difficulty adding posts, so have lost a bit of time, will get them up later. Anyhow onto the present day. Am off on a wee roady to Tangiwai, Army Museum in Waiouru, Huka Jet in Taupo and then of to New Plymouth for a drive around the Taranaki coastline. The mountain bike will not be accompanying me on this journey however the golf clubs and boogie board will be so look out for some pics of this outing later.
